Ms. Badenes has been at the firm since its inception.
With 27 years of experience in the financial industry, she is Head of Investor Relations at Meridia. She is responsible for all existing client relationships and leads global capital raising for the firm, whilst playing an integral role in promoting Meridia’s franchise internationally.
Prior to joining Meridia, she was Executive Director in the Equity Research Department of UBS Investment Bank in London. Ms. Badenes was ranked second best analyst in the sector in Europe by the Thomson Extel Pan-European Survey. She was also selected as one of the UK’s top-10 stock-pickers from among more than 1,000 financial analysts. She also worked in London as Vice President in the Equity Research Department of Dresdner Kleinwort. Ms. Badenes began her career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department of JP Morgan and Salomon Brothers in London.
Ms. Badenes chaired the Spanish Committee of Level 20 between 2021 and 2023, a UK based not for profit organisation focused on increasing gender diversity in the European private equity industry.
She is included in Leaders League's ranking of top Spanish Private Equity professionals.
She graduated with honours in Economics and Business Administration from Universidad de Barcelona and holds an MBA from IESE Business School.
Ms. Canosa works as an Asset Manager of a portfolio of assets, specializing in living, social and alternative.
She joined Meridia in 2018. Prior to joining, she worked for almost two years at JLL in the Alternative Investment Department. She has advised on one of the largest student housing portfolio transactions in Spain as well as on numerous deals in the Spanish alternative space, on behalf of buyers and sellers, particularly in student housing, healthcare and car parks. Before that, Ms. Canosa worked at CBRE, in the Property Management and Asset Services Department, where she managed different types of assets as a portfolio manager.
Ms. Canosa holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Carlos III (Spain) and a postgraduate degree in Real Estate Analysis from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (Spain). Her postgraduate thesis focused on “Alternative Assets” as an emerging market in Spain.
Ms. De Azlor’s responsibilities include the analysis of investment opportunities and preparation of business plans and valuation materials as well as the coordination of buy-side and sell-side processes.
Before joining Meridia in 2014, she worked for five years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as an Investment Banker on sell-side and buy-side M&A, leveraged buyouts and debt/equity financings in various sectors including energy and power and TMT, among others.
Ms. De Azlor holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School (Spain) and a master’s degree in Strategic Management from HEC Paris (Double Degree Program with ESADE).
Mr. Mateu is involved in sourcing, deal execution, portfolio management and divestments. He also serves as a board member in various companies.
Prior to joining Meridia in May 2017, he worked as an Analyst in the M&A team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, in Madrid. His experience includes numerous M&A transactions in the energy, health and infrastructure sectors.
Mr. Mateu holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from ICADE Business School, Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Spain).
Mr. Monzó oversees all CapEx matters at Meridia. During the acquisition process, this covers technical due diligence and potential CapEx/refurbishment project analysis through to the project development across all its phases. Meridia is one of the few investment institutions within the real estate industry with an in-house project management team.
Prior to joining the Meridia Project Management team in 2019, Mr. Monzó worked at Stoneweg for more than two years managing numerous real estate development projects. Before that, he worked at ADN Edifica for three years as a Project Manager. Over the last six years he has developed more than 400,000 sq. m in construction projects.
Mr. Monzó holds a Building Engineer degree from La Salle, Universitat Ramon Llull (Spain) and a Program for General Management (PDG) from IESE Business School, Universidad de Navarra (Spain).
Ms. Piera works with the Investor Relations and Corporate Development team and is responsible for ESG and sustainability. She also leads the ESG Committee.
Before joining Meridia in 2018, she worked in London as an Investment Associate at Virgin Management, Sir Richard Branson´s Family Office, for almost four years. She was involved in corporate development, M&A and capital markets across portfolio companies, as well as the execution of new investment opportunities. Prior to that, she worked in investment banking at Moelis & Company and Morgan Stanley.
