Mr. Alejandre’s responsibilities include the analysis and execution of investment opportunities as well as the preparation of underwritings, business plans and valuation materials. He also assists in the due diligence process of acquisitions and dispositions.
Prior to joining Meridia in 2021, Mr. Alejandre worked for four and a half years at the English law firm Ashurst LLP, as part of its Real Estate team. There, he participated in numerous real estate-related deals, including debt refinancing, non-performing loan portfolio sales, and real estate buy-side and sell-side deals. He also participated in the due diligence processes of real estate asset acquisitions. Before that, he was Legal Counsel at Grupo Vasari, a luxury real estate developer based in Marbella.
Mr. Alejandre holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain), a Master of Laws from IE Business School (Spain) and an MBA from IESE Business School, Universidad de Navarra (Spain).
Ms. Amías’s responsibilities include the analysis and execution of investment opportunities as well as the preparation of underwritings, business plans and valuation materials.
Prior to joining Meridia in 2022, Ms. Amías worked at Stoneweg as part of its Acquisitions team, where she participated in the underwriting of new opportunities across different asset classes as well as supporting the team in all processes related to investment and deal execution. Before that, she worked at Rothschild & Co as an Investment Banking Analyst in the FIG M&A Department.
Ms. Amías holds a Bachelor and MSc. in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain) and an MSc. in Management from HEC Paris (France).

Ms. Badenes has been at Meridia since its inception.
With 26 years of experience in the financial industry, she leads Investor Relations and global capital raising for the firm. As Head of Corporate Development, she is responsible for new business initiatives and plays an integral role in developing the fund management group’s strategy while promoting Meridia’s franchise internationally.
Prior to joining Meridia, she was Executive Director in the Equity Research Department of UBS Investment Bank in London. Ms. Badenes was ranked second best analyst in the sector in Europe by the Thomson Extel Pan-European Survey. She was also selected as one of the UK’s top-10 stock-pickers from among more than 1,000 financial analysts. She also worked in London as Vice President in the Equity Research Department of Dresdner Kleinwort. Ms. Badenes began her career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department of JP Morgan and Salomon Brothers in London.
Ms. Badenes chairs the Spanish Committee of Level 20, a UK based not for profit organisation focused on increasing gender diversity in the European private equity industry.
She is included in Leaders League's ranking of top Spanish Private Equity professionals.
She graduated with honours in Economics and Business Administration from Universidad de Barcelona and holds an MBA from IESE Business School.
Ms. Breda is responsible for asset managing a portfolio of real estate assets across Spain, mainly in Barcelona and Madrid.
Prior to joining Meridia in 2017, she worked at JLL for almost four years. She started out in the Marketing and Research Department before taking on the role of Leasing Consultant. Her main responsibilities included the commercialization of assets and addressing the concerns and requests of owners and tenants.
Ms. Breda holds a Journalism degree from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), a master’s in Marketing and Communications from IDEC (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and a Program for Management Development from IE Business School (Spain).
Ms. Butorina is responsible for marketing as well as organizing events, including Annual Meetings, digital events and team building activities. She also works on digital channels.
Prior to joining Meridia in 2018, Ms. Butorina worked at Aston School Language Academy as General Manager. Her main responsibilities included controlling the school’s general operations and marketing activities. Previously, she worked as a Management Assistant to the CTO at ADN Edifica.
Ms. Butorina holds a Business Administration degree (major in Communication and PR) from EU Business School (Spain) and a master’s in Digital and Direct Marketing from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain).
Ms. Canosa works as an Asset Manager of a portfolio of assets, specializing in living, social and alternative.
She joined Meridia in 2018. Prior to joining, she worked for almost two years at JLL in the Alternative Investment Department. She has advised on one of the largest student housing portfolio transactions in Spain as well as on numerous deals in the Spanish alternative space, on behalf of buyers and sellers, particularly in student housing, healthcare and car parks. Before that, Ms. Canosa worked at CBRE, in the Property Management and Asset Services Department, where she managed different types of assets as a portfolio manager.
Ms. Canosa holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Carlos III (Spain) and a postgraduate degree in Real Estate Analysis from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (Spain). Her postgraduate thesis focused on “Alternative Assets” as an emerging market in Spain.
Mr. Clarke is Director of Project Management and is responsible for all CapEx matters. During the acquisition process, Meridia’s in-house project management services team covers technical due diligence and potential CapEx/refurbishment project analysis.
Mr. Clarke joined Meridia in 2006. After opening the Hotel Arts Barcelona in 1994, he was recruited as a Property Manager responsible for asset management control. He was previously involved as a Project Manager in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games Development Project. This included the construction of a luxury five-star hotel, office building, commercial retail area and casino. He was contracted by Bovis International and then Shimizu Construction Japan to complete the project up to final inspection and handover to client. Prior to this, he gathered valuable experience working for his family-owned design and development company.
He holds a B.S. in Technical Industrial Engineering from Coventry Technical College (England).
Ms. Dalla-Chiesa is a Senior Investment Associate at Meridia. Her responsibilities include the analysis and execution of investment opportunities as well as the preparation of business plans and valuation materials.
Prior to joining Meridia in 2019, Ms. Dalla-Chiesa worked for over four years at Deloitte as part of its Financial Advisory team. Working in the M&A Transaction Services Department she participated in projects that included debt refinancing, operating restructurings, execution of business plans and valuations. She also participated in buy-side and sell-side due diligence processes.
Ms. Dalla-Chiesa holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School (Spain).
Ms. De Azlor’s responsibilities include the analysis of investment opportunities and preparation of business plans and valuation materials as well as the coordination of buy-side and sell-side processes.
Before joining Meridia in 2014, she worked for five years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as an Investment Banker on sell-side and buy-side M&A, leveraged buyouts and debt/equity financings in various sectors including energy and power and TMT, among others.
Ms. De Azlor holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School (Spain) and a master’s degree in Strategic Management from HEC Paris (Double Degree Program with ESADE).
Mr. Del Hoyo joined Meridia’s Project Management team in September 2022. Meridia is one of the few investment institutions within the real estate industry with an in-house Project Management team.
He oversees all CapEx matters. After the acquisition process, this covers technical due diligence and potential CapEx/refurbishment project analysis through to the project development across all its phases.
Prior to joining Meridia, Mr. Del Hoyo worked at Savills for more than four years as a Technical Consultant and Technical Property Manager managing numerous real estate projects. Previously he worked for more than four years as an Electrical Engineer for leading companies in the sector.
He holds an Energy Engineering degree from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain) and a master’s in Real Estate Consultancy from Savills - Aguirre Newman.

As a business executive and prominent investment professional, Mr. Faus has led numerous transactions in Real Estate, Private Equity and Venture Capital mostly in Spain and Latin America. He founded Meridia over 15 years ago, one of leading investment fund management firms in Spain. Mr. Faus chairs the Board of Directors of Meridia and all its Investment Committees. At present Merida Capital is managing Meridia II, Meridia III and Meridia IV in Real Estate and Meridia Private Equity I.
Prior to founding Meridia, between 2001 and 2006 Mr. Faus was CEO and minority shareholder of HOVISA, a real estate company based in Barcelona and owner of Hotel Arts (operated by Ritz-Carlton). He also acted as Iberian Managing Partner for Patron Capital from 2003 to 2006. Prior to his investment career, Mr. Faus worked as M&A lawyer.
Mr. Faus is a member of the Board of Directors of Indukern, a chemical and pharmaceutical group. Between 2010 and 2014 he also served as Director of Colonial, one of the largest publicly traded real estate companies in Spain. At an institutional level, between the 2019 and 2022 period he served as President of Cercle d’Economia, a prominent civic association focused on economic, social and political progress. Between 2010 and 2015 he also served as Vice President at FC Barcelona.
Mr. Faus has won several awards including the 2002 Deal of the Year by the International Hotel Investment Forum and the SAHIC 2011 Award for Best Investor. Meridia received the Southern Europe Firm of the Year PERE Award in 2016. He is also an active business angel in the Spanish start up arena, having invested in various local innovative venture companies to date.
Mr. Faus is also involved in the academic sector, he is a member of the ESADE Alumni Executive Board and has collaborated with different professors at Harvard, IESE and ESADE Business Schools imparting case studies based on his own experience. He received a Law degree from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, a Masters in International Law from Georgetown University and an MBA from ESADE Business School.
Ms. Gallegos is Office Manager and a team member of Meridia’s Administration Department.
She joined Meridia in 2010. Prior to this, she worked for five years in the Administration Office and Logistics Department of Ursus Restaurantes.
Ms. Gallegos holds a degree in Business Administration from IPAE (Peru) and Tourism Administration from CENFOTUR (Peru). She graduated in Art History from the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain) and has a master’s in Art Criticism and Historical Heritage Conservation.
Mr. Carlos Giménez has been at Meridia for almost four years and is involved in the development, preparation and presentation of financial and performance reports both for internal and external stakeholders. He also participates in the analysis of tax matters and the financing of funds.
Prior to joining Meridia, Mr. Giménez worked at Hines Spain in Asset Management, having previously worked for two years as a Debt Funds Officer at Alter Domus Alternative Asset Fund Administration in Luxembourg. Before moving to Luxembourg, Mr. Giménez worked for three years as an Auditor at PwC in Barcelona, Spain.
Mr Giménez holds a degree and master’s in Business Administration from ESADE Business School, Spain, a postgraduate degree in Accounting and Auditing from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain, and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute.
Ms. Gómez has extensive experience in the legal and corporate sector and leads legal and compliance matters at Meridia.
Prior to joining Meridia in 2017, she worked for over ten years as Group Corporate and Legal Director at Mixta Africa, a leading real estate developer in Africa with subsidiaries in six countries. At Mixta Africa, she was the Secretary of the Board and led corporate governance and compliance matters. Ms. Gómez was also responsible for legal aspects of the real estate business across the Group and participated actively in dealing with institutional investors and equity fund raising processes. Prior to that, she worked for three years as Head of Legal for Corporate Finance, Project Finance and M&A at Caixa d’Estalvis de Catalunya (now BBVA), and six years as Senior Lawyer in the M&A Department at Spanish law firm Uría Menéndez.
Ms. Gómez graduated with honours in Law from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain) and holds a master’s in Business Law from the same university.
Mr. Iborra is a Real Estate Investment Partner. He coordinates investments/divestments within Meridia’s real estate practice, including the sourcing and screening of investment opportunities, overseeing the underwriting process and the negotiation and execution of transactions, among other things.
He first joined Meridia in March 2007. Prior to that he worked for two years at Unilever in the Financial Control Department and spent one year at Grupo Abrisa in the Dominican Republic as an analyst in the Corporate Development Department. Mr. Iborra also worked as an MBA intern in the Investment Banking Division of JP Morgan in London and at Amazon Spain (Mobile Initiatives Division) in Madrid. After his MBA, he worked as a consultant at Zurich Insurance Company focusing on cost reduction projects, before re-joining Meridia in January 2014.
Mr. Iborra holds an honors degree in Business Administration from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain) and a degree in Actuarial Sciences from the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain). He is an MBA graduate from London Business School (England).
Ms. Ligüerre is part of the Legal team. She also works closely with the Investment team in the coordination and closing of real estate and financing transactions. She also deals with corporate secretarial and governance matters.
Prior to joining Meridia’s Legal team in 2020, she worked as a Real Estate and Corporate Lawyer at Baker McKenzie. Before that, she was a Lawyer at Conesa Legal and Roca Junyent, both Spanish law firms.
After graduating with honors in Law from the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), Ms. Ligüerre obtained an LLM in Professional Legal Practice from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain). She also holds a specialization master’s in International Business Law (including a sub-specialization in real estate law) with first-class honors from ESADE Law School (Spain).
Ms. López is responsible for asset managing a portfolio of real estate assets across Spain, mainly in Barcelona and Madrid.
She joined Meridia in 2016. Prior to that, she worked at CBRE as a Lease and Contract Manager. Her main responsibilities included drafting, supervising and controlling the Lease Contracts Department as well as managing the community of owners. Before that, she worked in the fields of civil and commercial law, especially regarding contractual and commercial issues.
Ms. López holds a Law degree from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) and a master’s in Real Estate from the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain).
Mr. Marquez joined the Finance team in 2022. His responsibilities include preparing financial reporting and monitoring day-to-day investment fund operations as well as acting as the contact person for fund managers, investors, fund administrators, auditors, banks and insurers.
Prior to joining Meridia, Mr. Marquez worked for four years in the private capital funds industry as a Senior Fund Officer, at Alter Domus (Ireland) and at BNP Paribas in Fund Administration and Middle Office departments, where his duties included the preparation of annual accounts, operations, and reporting to investors and regulators. Prior to that, he accumulated five years of experience in financial roles, working in private banking as a Financial Planner at Atl Capital and as a Treasury Controller at Grupo Cobra (a multinational company that is part of the ACS Group).
He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Málaga (Spain), a master’s in Financial Planning from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain) and a Professional Certificate in International Investment Fund Services from The Institute of Banking (Ireland).
Mr. Mateu is involved in sourcing, deal execution, portfolio management and divestments. He also serves as a board member in various companies.
Prior to joining Meridia in May 2017, he worked as an Analyst in the M&A team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, in Madrid. His experience includes numerous M&A transactions in the energy, health and infrastructure sectors.
Mr. Mateu holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from ICADE Business School, Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Spain).
Mr. Monzó oversees all CapEx matters at Meridia. During the acquisition process, this covers technical due diligence and potential CapEx/refurbishment project analysis through to the project development across all its phases. Meridia is one of the few investment institutions within the real estate industry with an in-house project management team.
Prior to joining the Meridia Project Management team in 2019, Mr. Monzó worked at Stoneweg for more than two years managing numerous real estate development projects. Before that, he worked at ADN Edifica for three years as a Project Manager. Over the last six years he has developed more than 400,000 sq. m in construction projects.
Mr. Monzó holds a Building Engineer degree from La Salle, Universitat Ramon Llull (Spain) and a Program for General Management (PDG) from IESE Business School, Universidad de Navarra (Spain).
Ms. Orellano is part of the Administrative team.
She joined Meridia in 2019. Prior to that, she worked for two years as an Account Director at Workcentre where she was responsible for managing the portfolio of clients. Previously, she earned 12 years of experience at various companies in Argentina and Spain as a Customer Relationship Manager and Administrative Assistant.
Ms. Orellano holds a Higher Technician diploma in Administration and Finance from Linkia FP (Spain).
Ms. Piera works with the Investor Relations and Corporate Development team and is responsible for ESG and sustainability. She also leads the ESG Committee.
Before joining Meridia in 2018, she worked in London as an Investment Associate at Virgin Management, Sir Richard Branson´s Family Office, for almost four years. She was involved in corporate development, M&A and capital markets across portfolio companies, as well as the execution of new investment opportunities. Prior to that, she worked in investment banking at Moelis & Company and Morgan Stanley.
Ms. Piera holds a degree and master’s in Business Administration from ESADE Business School (Spain).
Mr. Raso oversees the accounting, legal, tax and administrative processes of all the companies within the Group. He also focuses on regulation, compliance and risk management and is a member of Meridia’s Real Estate Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Meridia in February 2018, for two years Mr. Raso headed the Corporate Finance Department of Almirall, a listed and global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Barcelona. He had previously spent more than 13 years at EY in the Audit Department.
Mr. Raso holds a degree in Business Administration from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain), a postgraduate degree in Accounting and Auditing from the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain) and a General Management Program from IESE Business School, Universidad de Navarra (Spain).
Mr. Romero is responsible for asset managing a portfolio of real state assets across Spain, mainly in Barcelona and Madrid.
Prior to joining Meridia in 2019, he worked at CBRE for five years as a Senior Retail Consultant. His main responsibilities included the commercialization of assets as well as managing relationships with owners and tenants.
Mr. Romero holds a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and a master’s degree in Real Estate from the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain).
Mr. Sánchez’s main responsibility is the reporting of real estate assets. He also works closely with the Finance and Reporting team.
He joined Meridia’s Asset Management team in 2020 as a Controller. Prior to joining Meridia, he worked at CBRE for four years, most recently as a Financial Controller covering retail, office and logistics assets. He began his career in finance at Deloitte.
Mr. Sánchez holds an Economics degree from the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain).
Mr. Serrat brings with him over 20 years of experience in real estate and investment banking. He is Deputy Chief Investment Officer and Partner and is also a member of the Real Estate Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Meridia in 2022, Mr. Serrat served for eight years as Managing Director at Värde Partners in London. He was in charge of real estate investments in Spain, where he was directly responsible for building and managing a multibillion investment portfolio in servicing, residential and CRE spaces. He has been a board member of the servicer of Banco Popular Aliseda, the residential developers Via Celere and Aelca, and the CRE platforms La Finca Global Assets and Dos Puntos Asset Management.
Prior to joining Värde, he worked for seven years at Patron Capital Partners, where he was involved in the acquisition and asset management of the firm’s Spanish investments. Before that, he worked in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch in Madrid and London.
Mr. Serrat earned a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Cataluña (Spain) and an MSc from HEC Paris (France).
