Meridia Capital was founded by Mr. Javier Faus, Chairman & CEO. Prior to founding Meridia, from 2001 to 2006 Mr. Faus (45) was CEO and minority shareholder of Hotel Arts in Barcelona. The hotel was sold in 2006 to Host/GIC/ABP. Mr. Faus had previously worked as a lawyer in the offices of J&A Garrigues (New York) and Cuatrecasas Abogados (Barcelona). From 2002 to 2006 he was also the Iberian Managing Partner for Patron Capital (a private equity group based in London with assets of more than €1.5 billion under management). In 2010 he was appointed Member of the Board of Directors of Spanish real estate group Colonial, a publicly-traded company with a portfolio valued at more than US$10 billion. Mr. Faus received his Law degree from Universidad de Barcelona, a Masters in International Law from Georgetown University and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from ESADE Business School.
